Cancer Care Clinic

"We can't promise you perfection. We can promise your scalp, hair, skin and body the best support we're able to give — and whatever the results, you won't go through it alone."

01 — INTRODUCTION

Support through the changes that matter to you

Chemotherapy saves lives — but it can also bring difficult changes to your hair, scalp, skin, nails and confidence. At Daniel Field Clinic, we focus on helping you through these changes with gentle, considered care and personalised advice for people going through chemotherapy.

02 — OUR MISSION

What we're here to do

  • To help protect your hair and scalp as much as possible during chemotherapy

  • To help improve your comfort during scalp cooling

  • To care for your skin, body and nails through treatment

  • To support your recovery as fully as we can afterwards

03 — OUR ROLE

Working alongside scalp cooling, not against it

We are not a competitor to scalp cooling or cold cap providers. We see ourselves as supporting their work — helping make existing systems more comfortable and more effective, while offering wider care than many hospitals are currently able to provide.

Our approach is built on a simple system we call Try, Tell, Refine. You tell us what could be better. We listen, and we keep looking for better ways.

04 — WHAT WE'RE WORKING TOWARDS

Redefining what success should feel like

Most studies define scalp cooling success as keeping at least 50% of your hair. But patients have told us, consistently, that losing half your hair — or being left with visible patches — doesn't feel like success to them.

This is what we aim for, and what we're working towards for every patient:

Even coverage, not patchiness

Minimising thinning as much as possible

Supporting fast, healthy regrowth afterwards

Helping the hair you keep stay in the best condition we can manage

Confidence with less reliance on wigs, caps or scarves

Reducing the discomfort of scalp cooling, including the early cold sensation

Working to make the process as comfortable as possible, with no avoidable pain

We won't always get every outcome perfect — no clinic can promise that. But this is the standard we hold ourselves to, and the reason we keep refining what we do.

OUR PROMISE

"Because every patient deserves more than survival — they deserve to feel like themselves, as much as that's possible."

FOR CLINICIANS & PROVIDERS

Partnership invitation

Daniel Field Clinic and Field Foundation — natural partners in cancer care

01 — OUR POSITION

A complementary service, not a competing one

We stand alongside scalp cooling providers, hospitals and charities as a complementary service. Our mission is to support better patient outcomes — not to compete with the systems already in place.

02 — WORKING ALONGSIDE SCALP COOLING

A few of the ways we aim to add value

SAFETY

We work to reduce the risk of cold burns, inflammation and hair breakage associated with scalp cooling.

COMFORT

We aim to minimise the discomfort of cold exposure, scalp dryness and irritation during treatment.

EFFECTIVENESS

We work to improve cap fit, reduce patchiness and support healthy regrowth alongside existing scalp cooling protocols.

PREVENTION RESEARCH

We run an ongoing research programme focused on reducing temporary hair loss beyond expected scalp cooling outcomes, and on working towards a better understanding of hair growth changes such as chemo-curl and taxane-related persistent alopecia.

This is active research, not an established treatment claim. We are open about what is supported by current evidence and what remains an area we are still working to understand.

03 — BEYOND SCALP COOLING

Support across the wider treatment journey

HOLISTIC CARE

We aim to address skin, nail and wider body side effects that sit outside the scope of most current oncology guidance — working to fill gaps rather than duplicate existing care.

04 — OUR VALUES

What we stand for

ETHICAL CAPITALISM

Every purchase helps fund ongoing research, free patient support, and care kits for patients who need financial support.

LIFELONG FREE SUPPORT

Once a patient joins our community, we aim to stand with them and their family for life — not just for the duration of treatment.

THE FIELD FOUNDATION

Family care, for life

Building community and family care support during and beyond a cancer diagnosis — for as long as it's needed.

05 — WHAT THIS IS BASED ON

What we can show you, before you ask

50 yearsIn clinical hair and scalp practice

25 yearsWorking specifically in oncology-related care

2,500+Patients and contributors who have shaped this approach

This work is built on direct clinical practice and sustained, close contact with patients, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and hair and beauty professionals — not on a single trial or a closed research lab.

We want to be direct about what this is: most of what we know comes from clinical observation and patient feedback over many years, not yet from published, peer-reviewed trials. Where published evidence exists, we reference it. Where it doesn't yet exist, we say so — and that is exactly the kind of gap we'd welcome a research partnership to help close.

06 — INVITATION TO COLLABORATE

Where we'd like to work together

We welcome partnerships with oncology teams, scalp cooling providers and cancer support charities to:

  • 01Improve cosmetic outcomes by aligning technology with holistic, patient-centred care

  • 02Collect patient-reported outcomes that reflect true success and limitations — openly and honestly

  • 03Build lasting trust with patients through transparency and compassion

If this aligns with how your team thinks about patient care, we'd welcome the conversation.
